How do I use my fan controller?

Okay I've been looking for the answer everywhere and the topic isn't on here. Maybe I'm just too stupid!
I recently got a NZXT 810 case. Full tower that comes with a fan controller velcro on the back when you buy it.
Now I have all my fans plugged into it, powered by a molex connector and they all work fine.
My issue is, I have no idea how to control the fans with the internal controller. How do I use the controller? Does it do anything? Am I supposed to wire it to my motherboard in some way? Help!!

Solution
You could use it that way I believe. A bit sad NZXT doesn't have specific instructions for it. They don't appear to sell it separately either (even though they make many different fan controllers)

Depending on your motherboard and the number of fans, you can just use extenders to connect the fans to the motherboard for control. Actually quite a few variables here.

3-pin headers - power gnd and RPM (most motherboards are passive aside from the CPU headers.)
4-pin PWM headers - usually the motherboard will have a utility that will allow software control of the fans from Windows. 4-pin fans are bit more expensive.

Isn't that just a fan splitter? You should plug the wire into the motherboard and the fans to the other side, then you can controller two fans with each input. If I am remembering correctly.

A controller would have knobs or sliders. More fancy ones would have a display.

I think it's an integrated fan controller. One molex can power 7 fans but I'm not sure what it does. I have a h100i gtx water cooler with the fan plugged into my cpu fan slot but every other case fan is going into the controller

So I'll be okay with plugging my fans into that, and running the molex to it, and then getting an external fan controller to control the fan speed? Would that work?
