Gaming PC Suddenly Slow

Hello everyone,

I just recently moved and before the move my gaming pc was able to run the games I play (Total War, XCOM 2, EVE) maxed out with no issues. It was smooth sailing since I custom built it online to run Total War games without an issue. I purchased it back in late 2013 and since then I've had no problems with it.

Well now that I moved, I hooked it up and turned it on to play and now the same games that were working just fine before the move are now laggy as hell. I'm lost in the sauce because my drivers are up to date, and I haven't installed anything crazy since the time before the move until now. I've taken it to a local PC repair shop and they said it was malware that was messing up the PC (they removed it), but when I got home and plugged it in, the same problem persists.

I'm running an:

Intel I7-4770k 3.5 GHZ Processor
1TB SATA III 7200 RPM 3.5" Hard Drive
4 GB DDR3/1600 MHZ Memory
XTREMEGEAR 800 Watt 80 Plus Power Supply
Superclocked EVGA NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB GDDR5 PCI- E 3
Windows 10
Direct X 12

Anymore information I can provide to help solve this just let me know. I admit I'm over my head with this sort of stuff, when it gets into what I believe to be the hardware. On my benchmark score with the 3DMark 11 I got a combined score of 1365. It's really disheartening to see my PC run this slow and laggy when it was running beautifully before.

Solution
Niklas, the answer is much simpler.

I had plugged in my monitor into the wrong outlet (the motherboard one) instead of the video card outlet. So the only thing that was wrong was I had plugged in the wrong spot.

The shame is strong with me.
