The big question:
Would two GTX 960 4GB cards overclocked to 1203MHz outperform a single, base clock GTX 980 Ti?

I have seen plenty of tests that say the GTX 980 Ti wins all around; yet these testers used two 2GB 960s as opposed to two 4GB overclocked 960s.

Keep in mind that a single 980 Ti has 6GB VRAM as opposed to the 8GB VRAM (combined) possessed by the two GTX 960s in SLI.

Thanks all, Whitunga

No, 2 960s aren't much faster than a single 970. Also vram currently does not stack(it mirrors) in SLI so with 2 4Gb cards you will still only have 4Gb of usable vram. The 2Gb and 4Gb 960s perform almost identically the 4Gb only helps in certain games and even then it usually just run smoother(more consistent fps).

The single high end card will always give better performance than two or more lower end cards
Unless you are using the latest high end card and you still want more graphics power in this case SLI will be good
