I have a 240GB Mushkin SSD right now and I want to purchase a nicer (more reliable/better quality) 120GB SSD (Samsung or Sandisk) for use exclusively with OS and drivers etc. and then my current SSD as storage for games and programs that I want speed on. What is the best way to, for lack of a better explanation, remove the OS from my current SSD but keep the files and programs to then install just the OS on the new SSD.

If that makes any sense.

Thanks, Dave

Solution
Simply copy all of the files from the 240GB SSD to another hard drive, or burn them to a CD or DVD. Or, if you don't mind waiting to upload them, save your files to the cloud with one of the free cloud storage services. Once the files have been copied elsewhere, reformat that 240GB SSD to use again. After you have reformatted, copy those files back to it. Yes, you will have to spend some time doing all of this, but would be what I would do in that situation.
