Hi Guys ! I have external 1tb my passport hdd n it was encrypted by bitlocker encryption on win 7 ultimate 64bit n i used it lightly for about 2 years without any problem but a 2 days b4 i discovered that my e-hdd not opening after i enter password on bitlocker screen ! What happens is it waits n waits a lot n there is a message BitLocker Drive Encryption (Not Responding) n then it takes a while for message n screen to dissapear after d message n screen dissapears n i can see that lock is opened on the drive but still cant access d drive ! N interestingly if i click on bit locker screen while it trying to open d drive my desktop come unresponsive untill i unplug d drive ! I tried a lot of things like if i enter a wrong password it says its wrong , i started my laptop on safe mode n tried if it opens but no hope it looks like safe mode doesnt support bitlocker encryption at all bcuz i didnt see any screen for unlocking but u can see d drive but u cant access it ! Tried on different computers too with different data cables but without any hope so its looks like i hit the wall ! So guys if any one of u experienced this kind of problem n solved it please do share with me i would really appreciate that n here some screen pictures i would like to share it would help u guys understand my problem better, i hope !

Solution
It seems like the drive's partition is seen as RAW which (as stated in the error message) means that you can't use "chkdsk" for such a partition. It's really starting to look like your only hope for data retrieval is a professional solution, such as a data recovery company: WD Data Recovery Partners

Hey there, bek_x001.

This sounds truly unfortunate. :(

Have you experienced any issues with the drive? Any unusual sounds/noises coming from it, slow transfer speed, etc? Basically if the drive is physically OK this would mean that the issue is with the encryption. Are you sure no one has access to your password and that it hasn't been changed? Perhaps getting in touch with Microsoft's customer support might prove useful. The guys there might be able to help with the BitLocker problem.

Please keep me posted.

It sounds like you have explored most of the possibilities. The drive might have an issue. WD has really good customer support, some of the best. I would try contacting WD.

The error "drive is not accessible, the parameter is incorrect" might be fixable with the chkdsk command. However if the drive is having issues, this might further complicate things so it's a bit of a risky process. If you decide to give it a try here's how to do it:
1. Open CMD (Command Prompt) as administrator.
2. Type chkdsk /f /r /x Q: and press "enter" (note that I've written "Q" as this is the letter you've mentioned that's assigned to the drive you are talking about, so please change it with the appropriate one if this is not right)
3. Once the process has been completed you can exit CMD and try again.

Please keep me updated.
