About a few months ago i started having terrible FPS drops and it hasnt been fixed since. Before the FPS drops happened, my specs were i3-4160, GT 730, 4 GB of RAM, and im using HDDs. about 6 months after buying my PC, i got the FPS drops and terrible performance. I had only a stock cooler for my CPU and 1 side fan, and when i checked the temps of my CPU after i got the FPS drops it was at 70 C. So i bought a better cooler for my CPU, an exhaust fan, replaced the GT 730 with a GTX 750 ti, and bought another stick of 4 GB RAM. The temps went down to 40 C to 50 C, 60 C at max. But the FPS drops were still there, so i tried defragging my HDD using Piriform's Defraggler, scanned for viruses using Superantispyware which found nothing but cookies, Unparking my cores, defragging my games specifically using Contig, tweaking my game's files and graphics settings, uninstalling graphics drivers using DDU and reinstalling the new ones, to no avail. Would anyone please help? I dont know what to do and its been bothering me a lot because i cant play well and these days ive never enjoyed my games because most of the time im finding a way to stop the FPS drops.

So, just to set the things correctly, your setup now consists of i3-4160, 8GB RAM, GTX 750Ti and mechanical HDDs?

If so, do the following:

- list the games you are having issues with here
- perform memtest
- scan your PC for viruses/malware with different software, not only 1. Preferably with at least 2-3 different scanners/cleaners/antiviruses.
- a clean reinstall of Windows should be performed as well if all else fails, at least to remove the probability of this being a software issue - if it persists even after Windows reinstall, it is certainly a hardware issue and we can focus more on that

Which PSU are you using, BTW?

yes that is now my setup. the games im having horrendous fps drops in are Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham City as well as Assassin's Creed Rogue which used to be the game that never had any FPS drops but now it does. And ive tried multiple antivirus software and antimalware software like Malwarebytes which also didnt detect anything. Ive reinstalled Windows 7 once to change from 32 bit to 64 bit. After a few months the bad performance in games started happening and i ended up reinstalling windows again, but the bad performance was still there. how do i check what PSU i have? and i havent done a full cleaning on my PC, but when i opened it up the fans didnt have any dust

i cannot open up my PC to see what PSU i have right now as i dont have a screwdriver, but my friend who put in the GTX 750 Ti and new fans ran my PC without the side panel and it was working fine. Although i did ask him once what was my PSU, and he said its the generic one. I am currently running Memtest and will ping you the results after the test is done
