My new PC is recognising my Gaming mouse and keyboard as "Microsoft PS/2 mouse" and "Standard PS/2 Keyboard".

Hey guys. Just today I upgraded my computer (Changed the Motherboard, RAM and CPU). I did a clean install of windows, and tried plugging in my Keyboard and Mouse. However, the drivers apparently failed to install, and the computer is just reading them as "Microsoft PS/2 mouse" and "Standard PS/2 Keyboard". I've tried downloading the actual drivers and software for my Keyboard and mouse (The keyboard is a CoolerMaster masterkeys pro L and the mouse is a Steelseries Rival 300), but the software that is supposed to recognize the devices (The steelseries engine and the CoolerMaster master keys application), doesn't end up recognizing them, so I can't install the proper drivers.

Can anyone help me? It's really giving me a headache

What is the model of your motherboard?

Install all drivers for it, in particular the main chipset / USB drivers. Otherwise you might have USB issues. Being a relatively new and clean install, it is very likely that you forgot that. It might seem that Windows did all by themselves, but original drivers from the manufacturer should always be installed.

Also try using different USB ports.
