Memory Dual Channel Configuration

I know my MB MSI 890gxm g65 supports Dual Channel.

Information from MB manual:
Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600*/1800*/2133* (OC) DRAM, 32GB Max

I dont have any RAM now and I want to use 2 new RAMs in dual channel configuration (2x4GB = 8 GB). Will buying 2

identical (same product) ram sticks of 4GB (2 x 4gb) make it work in dual channel configuration.

or Only RAMS bought in a kit of 2 RAMs support dual channel config?

I found RAM Kit of 2 sticks at the higher price than buying 2 identical RAMs adding upto same memory space. I will prefer purchasing 2 identical RAM sticks if it will work fine. Please suggest.

Best to buy a set, no guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM , even if same identical model. Manufacturers test sticks together before they get packaged to nsure they will play nice. Which is also why a 2 stick package may cost a bit more, from the testing time

it should/would (unless its some weird type of single sticks)

but tbh it sounds very weird you found single identical sticks to be cheaper, because DC kits should either at teh very least cost teh same, or be a tiny bit cheaper
personally i cant recall when i ever saw singles to be cheaper..

u sure the 2 types (single stick and the dc kit) was identical? timings? speeds? manufacturer?

i know there is teh theoretical chance it wont work together with 2x identical single sticks, personally i have just never seen it happen in 20 years

and nor did i ever recall seeing/buying 2x singles that was cheaper than the identical DC kit, even if accounting for the test, since you are sorta buying in "mini bulk" you'd get it either cheaper or at same cost, since teh manufacturer knows he is getting rid of 2 sticks guaranteed vs only 1
atleast thats how it just seems to have always been in my country when purchasing singles vs dual from any shop
just my experience

to clarify situation a bit further...
I thought of buying 2 sticks of below product. Making 2x4GB = 8 GB

ahh thats why the price differs
1x8gb stick vs 1x4gb sticks

if the ram module is different size thats prob why you are seing it as being more expensive buying singles thatn dual kits
those link are 8gb 2,625.00 vs 1,425.00x2 my math says 2625 8gb is cheaper than 2x4gb for 2850

i thought you meant buying 2x single sticks 4gb for 8gb versus buying an already assembled dualchannel kit of 2x4gb

because yes often now a single stick of 8gb is cheaper than 2x4gb (advances in technoogy making stuff cheaper yay)
but if comparing 2x4gb single sticks of exact same make model manufacturer to their 2x4gb DC kit, the DC kit should either cost the same or be slightly cheaper,,
again thats my experiences, in my country
