I recently finished this build about 3 months ago and have just recently noticed extremely high CPU temps from CPUID HWMonitor. As of typing this my cpu is running at 86 Celsius and while playing games it often maxes out around 95. The highest temp I have seen was around 110 Celsius which has me worried. I have applied new thermal paste, all fans are running properly in a full size case. I'm currently at at loss.

Here is my build

AMD A10 7850K Quad Core 3.7 GHz FM2+ 95W
XFX Radeon R9 380x 4GB 256 bit
ASUS ROG Crossblade Ranger FM2+ AMD A88X
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 240 pin DDR3 1600
ROSEWILL Nighthawk 117 ATX Full Tower
XFX XTR Series 650W power supply
Acer K242HQKbmjdp black Widescreen Monitor LED 4K

seems to me that if the fans are working, you might need to reseat the heat sink. what is the idle temperature?

also, check the thermal margin reported in AMD's overclocking utility. the 7850k is notoriously bad at proper temperature readings in applications in my experience. (reads as 0°c to 10°c in most for me)

And you should be.

What do you mean that your fans are running properly? Do they reach 100% at 80°C?
Do you have a specific cooler or a stock one. And are you overclocking? (Assuming not as you would've mentioned it)
Do you have case fans and do you have the case somewhere it can acutally breath? (not in a small closet)

Fans running properly meaning that there are all working. My case is in an open office. The cooler came stock with the CPU and I am not overclocking currently running at 3.8 GHz

I second this, my AMD laptop reports that it is running at 115C using something like CoreTemp but AMD Overdrive reports its thermal margin is in the 20's. I built an APU system for my friend using some spare parts and the many of the usual monitoring programs would have me convinced that it ran idle below the rooms ambient temp off a stock cooler.

If you are really worried get a tube of thermal paste and some isopropanol. Use the cleaner to get rid of the old paste and remount your cooler. Run something like Prime95 and see what the thermal margin looks likes after 20 a while.

If you see the thermal margin coming down into single figures you have a genuine problem. You should look at improving airflow through your case i.e. more case fans, better internal cable management and maybe getting a decent quality air cooler for the CPU.

I suspect though you'll find that the thermal margins are reporting fine in AMD Overdrive.

Overdrive reads thermal margin at 33 C which makes me feel a lot better. I guess I had suspected it was overheating due to spiking temps in CPUUID HWMonitor. Often when I am playing something like WoW my system will freeze, screen goes black and I hear a buzzing sound through the headphones. I guess this must be another issue

Try running a Prime95 memory test, I found on one A10-7850k system that was locking up randomly that it was a memory problem. The RAM sticks were rated for 2133 but if you ran them faster than 1866 they started causing BSOD and random freezes. I reckon my other suggestion would be to try running WOW from the APU graphics and see if you have the same issue (remove the R9 380) when doing that.

I don't see it mentioned in your original post, but if you are using the stock cooler, you should consider getting a third party one. In your case, I strongly recommend the CoolerMaster Hyper T4, it's cheap, quiet, very easy to install and gets the job done.
