My pc consist of
Motherboard : gigyabyte GA-G41M-combo [rev:2.0]
Recently my ddr2 ram got damaged so before going to buy new one i dicided to try my neighbours ram which was 4gb ddr3,
I inserted the ram and started up the pc but it gave no response no beep no display...
I want to buy a new ddr3 ram so please suggest me the one which supports my mother board and why the ram was not responding i heard its because of the chip one sided something

Solution
Will you install two 4 GB modules? If so, then post links to 4 GB modules available in India. They will most likely work as long as they have 8 chips on each side; they are not compatible if they have 8 chips on only one side. Problem is most sites don't provide that info.
Because it is a motherboard capable of running DDR2 or DDR3 memory.

The memory controller on the motherboard will be limited.

First of all the DDR3 speed limit of memory modules fitted is 1333Mhz in speed at 1.5v

If you place any memory in the two memory slots provided on the motherboard for DDR3 type memory and it is rated at a higher speed than 1333Mhz.

The memory will not be detected in most cases, or if the memory has a XMP memory profile feature.
You cannot have DD2 and DDR3 memory modules fitted to your motherboard at the same time also.

As it will result in a non booting of the system or fail to detect any memory at all.
The total amount of memory size you can fit to each of the DDR 3 memory slots provided must be 4Gb in size for each of the two DDR3 memory slots.

The board only supports a maximum of 8Gb of system memory in DDR2 or DDR3 memory module format.
Any memory module above the 4gb capacity fitted to each slot will not be detected by the motherboard memory slots when the system is powered up.

Bellow is a link to the manual for the motherboard that you can read if you have adobe reader installed on your system. The manual is in PDF format so you can check all of the points I have stated above as to why the memory you borrowed did not work with your system when you tried them in the DD3 memory slots of the motherboard Pushkraj. I hope it helps anyway.

I could not see when looking at the motherboard and the manual for it myself any reference to the population of memory chips on the memory modules.

It never stated single sided population or dual sided population of chips from what I looked at.
It just stated the maximum of 4Gb of total memory per module as a maximum, as the board could only read that capacity for each of the two provided DD3 memory slots of the motherboard GhislainG.

High-density chips didn't exist back then; it's no different than the newer socket 1156 motherboards that also can't use high-density chips. 4 GB modules released in the last couple years usually are single-sided (8 chips on one side) and they are not compatible with old motherboards that only support low-density modules. Documentation for older motherboards isn't revised because newer and incompatible memory modules are released.

maybe ?? them giga boards are a bit more finicky for some reason ? maybe there bios over the rest ??

notice how much giga boards pop up with this ... thing is it g41 and its down to you buy you try and hope it don't make you cry .. its just the way it is now for a g41

good luck

Where can you buy if that G.Skill isn't available? Another solution is to get a used kit manufactured in 2011 when high-density chips still were not used to manufacture 4 GB memory modules.

You have to be careful; 4 months ago I bought a G.Skill kit that was on the supported list for a socket 1156 motherboard; unfortunately the chips used to build it were high-density, but G.Skill didn't change the part number. I was able to buy an identical used kit manufactured December 2011 and it's compatible with 16 chips (8 per side). I know that Corsair don't have any 4 GB DDR3 low-density modules.

you got to just face the fact you got a forgot about and flat left behind platform ..

nothing is guaranteed but seeing this from this memory maybe a good bet from that link I gave you above with all this g41 info in it
