gateway laptop constantly loses internet connection

This has been happening a few weeks now, can last anywhere from 2-10 minutes. When troubleshooting I get a message saying something is wrong with my wireless network adapter.

The first thing to do is reinstall the wifi driver. Get it from the hardware manufacturer not automatically through Windows Update. As a failed or wrong update may be the cause of the problem.

Gateway is the computer manufacturer and they should have a web page that has all the drivers for the computer. Go to their web support site and enter the model number or other requested information about your computer. The support page page should be there and contain a "downloads" or "drivers" area. Individual computers of this model may (or may not) have been built with different wifi cards, so follow any instructions to determine the correct wifi driver for your serial number.
