Hey,
Im using a motherboard "Asus P5K-V" and on their website motherboard manual, it only says about the slots, 2 x PCIe x16 (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode) supports CrossFire Technology and GTX 960 requires PCI Express 3.0 and im not sure is my motherboard is supported or not.
Right now im using GTX 550Ti,
Anyone can tell me if my motherboard supports GTX 960,
Thanks

Greetings Waqas17,

Thank you for sharing your post. The ASUS P5K-V supports up to one PCI Express x16 graphics card (Blue). The GTX 960 as you stated is a PCI-E 3.0 x16 graphics card. I agree with "Gnuffi" PCIE Gen 1,2,3 are both forward and backwards compatible. In terms of graphical power, the GTX 960 is a substantial upgrade in which you should see a big step up in performance vs your GTX 550Ti.

Check out this benchmark between the GTX 960 vs GT 550Ti created by gpuboss.com for an apples-to-apples comparison:

Hope all is well with the upgrade!
