Hi Everyone,

Could you please help??
I have been wanting to build a mid range gaming PC for a while now but never had the opportunity to, I've been doing a bit of research and the below list of part is what I came up with to suit my budget..., I don't think there's any compatibility issues, but im not sure if I'm being as efficient as possible with the investment... btw Im in Ireland, so my choice of component vendors is very low.., Im currently looking at the site http://www.novatech.co.uk/ , so that's where Ill be sourcing the parts from as they seem to be cheaper than amazon. I'm just a little nervous about spending all this money on parts when im not an expert!!!!

Basically I would like to upgrade the build when I have more money, that's why i'd like to go with the i3 6100 as I could eventually swap it out for a better GPU? I did look at AMD CPU's but I don't want massive power consumption either!

part List:

Case: Aerocool Aero-500 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/midtowercases/en55521.html

CPU: i3 6100
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/processors/intelskylake1151/bx80662i36100.html

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2H
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/motherboards/intelsocket1151/h110chipset/ga-h110m-s2h.html

Ram: 8gb DD4 2400
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/memory-pc/ddr4memory/ddr4pc4-192002400mhz/hx424c15fb28.html

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 960 STRIX OC 2GB GDDR5
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagtx960series/strix-gtx960-dc2oc-2gd5.html

I already have an SSD and a corsair CX600 (long story). Did I forget something or is there other stuff I need?

Any help or feedback would be appreciated!!!!!

Thanks you!!!

Dear Pheonix,

You have a good PC, as the i3-6100 outperforms the FX-6300 in many cases. However, I would highly recommend the R9 380 4GB over the 960, as the 380 outperforms the 960 in a lot of titles. Also the DDR4-2400 wouldn't be supported on the 6100, as it would be downclocked back to 2133 MHz. Make the changes as suggested and that build is ready for some awesome 1080p 60FPS carnage!

Hi ThePurpleJay!

Thanks for the quick response, I know nothing about graphics cards so was trying to match bench marks and price, would this gpu be ok?
GIGABYTE Radeon R9 380 G1 GAMING 4GB GDDR5 -
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/amdradeon...

There is an XFX Radeon R9 380 Double Dissipation 4GB GDDR5 too for the same price?

Thanks for the suggestion on the Ram, I didnt see that!

Both cards perform equally the same, go with either. Oh and there is a Sapphire R9 380 Nitro Dual-X OC for $175, go with that if you can, it sounds sweet if you ask me.
