So I recently built my second pc, and I am having some issues when booting.

What I did in order:
1. installed my dvd drive
2. installed 4tb hdd
3. tried loading windows onto the 4tb hdd (I got a corrupt file issue, decided to buy an ssd)
4. installed my ssd and installed windows onto it.
5. removed the dvd drive and installed my 4tb hdd
6. When I start up my pc now I just get a blank screen
7. Now when I remove the 4tb hdd, I still get a blank screen.

Is there some way that i can format my 4tb hdd? I think it still has a corrupt windows install on it, and when I try to use my windows disk to format it, I just get a black screen and a cursor.

Solution
Enter BIOS and make sure that the SSD is the first on the BOOT order, from what you descripe, it sounds like the mechanical disc is the first and not the SSD.

I reinstalled win7 on my ssd, it boots fine, I now reinstalled my 4tb hdd and I get "Checking file system. One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency." When that finished, I booted into win7, but my 4tb drive shows up with only 486gb of storage.
