I have a AMD fx9590 with xfx r9 390 in a build I somewhat pieced together along with the help of a shop. I had the guy working on it for about 3 weeks. First he told me it was the video card (which was a r9 380 at the time.) So I changed it out to a R9 390 because I was thinking it was just a GPU issue. So he sent it back and after about 2 weeks he changed it out. Still the same issue. So now he is saying it is a CPU issue. Everywhere I've looked it seems to be the issue THO it seems like this dude doesn't know wtf he is talking about. I know I hardly know what is going on but I am a quick learner.
Anyways after looking at other issues people have posted I relate to most but I'm not 100% on the whole pc building thing. Anyways I've done a couple experiments (if you can call them that).
NOTE: I have a older PC with a mid setup and it works fine with the games I play. That aside here is what I've done.
1. After the pc shop guy told me it was my video card I placed it into my older pc and it worked fine after the ordering of the newer one (which I should of done at the start to rule that out.)
2. I've put a box fan onto said build on full blast and it ran fine for hours till I had to go to bed for work.
Reasons I think it is freezing up over.
1. Case air flow. Where the fans are they Look ill placed and looks as if they do not help.
2. CPU getting hot because of factory issues or something along those lines.
3. Thermal paste applied poorly.
4. Again CPU issues but maybe due to cooler.
