I have the most recent nvidia drivers installed, the computer is not overheating and i can't seem to find anything wrong with how it is setup yet every game i play will start to lag about 2 mins in. this is a brand new computer....the game will start off looking amazing, being fully responsive to my controls and in no time at all i can't even tolerate the delay between my mouse movement and the response on the screen. the background gets blurry and it's just terrible lol. Ive searched for help elsewhere but it seems no one has the answers...please help!

Solution
Check task manager for processes. Since you bought already builded PC which is terrible especially when I see 6700 and 960.. I assume that there are already some softwares in OS which you don't want. Antivirus, or something might be the issue. Also make sure that integrated card is disabled. Latest drivers aren't the best, download DDU cleaner, remove everything in safemode and install 362.00 since they are most stable overall. Don't install what you don't need like 3D vision etc, only drivers, experience and physics including hd sound for hdmi IF you are using that.

Other then that monitor task manager for ram/cpu usage and see if something is eating there.

That build is so bad man..Why would you buy a prebuilt PC?
Prebuilt PCs can have non-standard cases, non-standard PSUs(and garbage PSUs) and in the past have had non-standard motherboards.
Anyway, you don't want to pair GTX 960 to an i7-6700, for i7-6700, you want at least a 970, 980 is preferable.
Disable iGPU, monitor your GPU for utilisation with HWMonitor, your CPU too.
Try connecting your display on another port on your GPU, preferably display port. This is most likely not your problem, but it doesn't hurt to try.
If that doesn't work, if they gave you an OS Disc, format your PC with a clean OS, download drivers, etc..
