Looking between the Corsair K70 RGB and Ducky Shine 5

Hello forumers,

I have been looking around for a good RGB mechanical keyboard for a while now and the shortlist are between these 2. Personally I prefer Cherry MX Blue switches and I'm aware that the Ducky Shine 5 has it whereas the K70 has discontinued for that particular switch. The price difference between the two is about $100 with the K70 being cheaper in my country. So in short, I have no qualms with using the Brown switches but I would very much prefer the Blue's. Which would you guys suggest and why?

It really depends on personal preference and your scenario.

For example, do you share your PC space with other people? Do want the board for gaming or lots of typing? Does the noise of a keyboard bother you?

Browns are considred the best hybrid switch between gaming and typing. Unlike Red switches, they offer a nice tactile feedback upon actuation, but lack the 'click' noise of the Blue switches.

Personally, my favourite switches are Browns, but thats probably because they were what I had on my first mech keyboard.

I suppose what it comes down to is this: Is the clicky noise of the Blue switches worth the extra money in your mind?

If yes, then there's your answer.

As for the boards themselves, I think the K70 is the better of...

As for the boards themselves, I think the K70 is the better of the two due to its brushed aluminium finish (which makes it look and feel great, whilst the weight prevents any sliding), an excellent optional wristwrest, and my personal highlight - dedicated media keys with metal volume control wheel.

I would very much like the clicks made by the blue switches but the fact that the Corsair board has an aluminium body made it harder for me to choose. If the Ducky can justify why its better in terms of quality I can fork out extra to get it. Another consideration made by a friend of mine was the Strafe RGB so now the situation is made more difficult .

Here are the 3 compared in the simplest of terms:

K70 - Best overall keyboard with excellent premium features, but wrong switches.

DS5 - The right switches, but lacks the features of the K70.

Strafe - Less professional looking than the K70 and lacks dedicated media keys, but has much better RGB lighting.

I am thinking the DS5 will definitely suit my cause as the quality as mentioned by many users are excellent and it has the switches that I prioritise over the others. I will definitely head down to the store to give it a test to finalise my decision. Thanks!
