Yesterday eveing enjoyed some gaming after a week away from the computer. Before bed I noticed I had a lot of Windows updates to catch up on so figured I would catch up and then hit the sack. Windows update downloaded everything fine asked to restart and I proceeded. Configuration screen on shutdown and then on restart had to reconfigure settings. At 98% the settings failed and windows reverted the changes and attempted restart. Instead of starting Windows I get a black screen with the message "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".

After googling from mobile I went to BIOS to make sure my boot device order hadn't changed. All seemed well. I'm booting from hard drive first. I tried a couple different solutions and boot orders, but always returns to the black screen with the same reboot and select media.

Im not sure what I can do next without going hunting for my windows disk and praying I don't have to reinstall everything. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

ADDING: The updates messin' with your BIOS seems odd.. New boards come with software you can install that will "work" with your BIOS making changes to it you select.. What make/model board is this?
