Hi guys so I always wondered if your awesome computer can/will eventually die out. So I can't remember the last time i made any changes to my pc but i believe it was either 2013 or 2014. My specs are as follows.

SPECS

-Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 4 GB FTW
-Intel Core i7 3770K
-8 GB RAM
-Windows 7 Ultimate
-PSU 750 W

I have done temperature checks and I was getting problems with my GPU but I've fixed it now by following a guide where i opened the GPU and added thermal paste to where the old one has gone from. My CPU temperature is fine too.

When playing games I used to be able to run them no issue, 60 fps, 1080p max, etc. Comes the release of GTA V on pc and around that time my pc started to have issues. My FPS with all my games have been bad, high demanding games and even low quality games give me fps issues.

What makes it even more confusing to me is that now I'm playing Black Desert Online which i was able to play maxed or close to maxed with 60 fps prior to NA's release and now that im playing the NA version with my pc in its state i cant play comfortably.

The only fix I can think of and dont understand is, for example on Black Desert Online. When I open the map the frames go up again, and as soon as I close the map my frames remain fine until I encounter a really populated area of players of a lot of flashy effects. Then that fix may or may not work anylonger. Other games its similar but with perhaps the menu or alt tabbing and coming back.

Its coming to the point where im thinking of just buying a new pc. I told myself id try here and see what help i can get, cuz im sure my pc should be able to run these games no problem.

Anyhow lads thanks for helping me if you can, and sorry about this long post but this has be bothering me for time now.

Thanks.

What is the brand and model of the power supply? A cheap unit is usually the start of issues, and can spread to other components as crashes and failed hardware over time.

Do a clean setup of Windows as above, if things still crash after a clean setup and clean driver setup, start testing parts in another system and swap in known good parts in yours, starting with the video card and power supply and RAM. Test one stick of RAM at a time.

its possible the drivers aren't designed specifically for your card anymore and are more for the newer cards. Nvidia don't make version specific drivers unlike AMD, so they might be built to make Titans look amazing but at the expense of older cards that don't have same features.

New games just require more, though its strange that games that once worked fine don't anymore.

One fix might be a fresh install of win 7, always makes pc feel faster again... shame it takes so long on win 7 now, so many updates.

Your pc isn't that bad though, maybe all you need is a newer GPU.
