Connecting 2 PWM case fans through a splitter to one motherboard fan port causes buzzing sound.

To explain the heading, both of my fans are PWM and so is the motherboard port. The splitter, though, is not; one is 3 pin while the other port in it is PWM. When I connect just one fan directly to the motherboard, there is no humming sound. When I connect both through the splitter, a sort of humming sound occurs. I even tried connecting another splitter to the first splitter so that both the fans are connected to a 3 pin splitter port, but that too causes the sound.
Does anybody have any explanation to this situation?
Would connecting both the the PSU through separate molex adapters solve the problem?

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

The buzzing sound means that you're drawing more power from the motherboard than it's meant for, so I would connect the PWM fan to the header on the MOBO and then use a Molex adapter to hook the three pin fan to the power supply.

You could connect both to the PSU through separate Molex adapters, but you will lose the ability to change the speed of the PWM fan. Also, you can daisy chain Molex devices, so you can connect the female Molex of one adapter right into the male of the other and only be using one of the Molex connectors on your power supply, but I recommend hooking the PWM fan into the MOBO header so you can control speed

Both my fans are PWM. I don't mind having both running at full speed as they are pretty quiet and I want all the air intake I can get by running them full throttle. Thanks for the reply. I guess i'll use molex adapters to connect both to the PSU.
