Hi everyone,
How much RAM will the Lenovo M90p take? Im asking because I got 8gb (4gbx2) of RAM and it didnt work. Does this mean I have to get 2gbx4 for 8gb to work?

Solution
If you can return them, I would do so.

While it sounds simple, UDIMM modules can have very minor differences (for example single v. dual rank which have slightly different electrical connections to the memory controller) that may be important for your bios.

I have always found Crucial memory that is guaranteed compatible has worked where other memory has failed me.

I figured. The ram still does not work. I have 2 pairs of 4gbx2, both do not work. I tried to put all 4 sticks in, and the logo comes up, the circle comes about halfway then it gives me a kernel error or a bad pool header or something else.

I believe the problem is that it needs UDIMM and what I have is DIMM.

Here is what the manufacturer said:
UDIMM just stands for Unbuffered Dual Inline Memory Module or Unbuffered DIMM. All Non-ECC modules are unbuffered, so they are the same modules, just with different.
However, the current working stick says PC3-10600U, and these say PC3-10600.
Should I just return them and get the crucial sticks?
Thank you for your help so far.
