Minecraft lag Problems

I used to be able to run Minecraft 120fps+medium/high settings

Now I can barely get 30fps low settings w/optifine.


Any suggestions on how to fix? (I use a laptop btw).

My laptop specs are:


CPU: AMD A8-6410 APU 2.00Ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
RAM: 8GB
64 bit Operating System
x64 based processor

I have a feeling your laptop is switching from your gpu to your integrated graphics. Have a look at your gpu settings (probably in the amd control center) and make sure your games are always set to use your gpu and not your cpu.
