Questions about reusing old drives!

So I am building a new PC soon and I want to reuse both my old SSD and HDD.

My HDD has Windows 7 on it and the SSD has a bunch of games on it. I know I was too lazy to reformat when I got the SSD.

Anyways, I want to do a clean install of Windows 10 on the new PC.

So my questions are:
1) What is the best way to ensure that the SSD is freed up of space when I use it in the new PC? Is formatting the drive when I install Windows the best way to delete everything from the drive or should I use some software to wipe the SSD first? Or can I just manually delete everything? Also, I have heard that you should only use the option 'quick format' on SSDs, any truth to this?

2) After I have set up the SSD as my main drive, I want to use the HDD as storage. What is the best way to free up space on the HDD? Should I just use Windows to format the drive or use some software to wipe that drive?

Thanks!

Solution
1) Just go to Disk Management on an existing installation and format it as NTFS. Full wipe :) No truth AFAIK to 'Quick format' but you might as well use that anyway as it is quicker.
2) Again, disk management format as NTFS!

Hope that helped :)
