Best Graphics Card around $400

Solution
The GTX 970 has better performance to watt to the R9 390X. Nvidia tends to put out optimized drivers faster. If you want the GTX 970, this is the best one.

The AMD R9 390X puts out more heat, has a higher TDP. If you have a high wattage PSU(750w>) get the R9 390X.

gtx 970 or amd r9 390x

performance to watt noice heat dollar is better on the gtx 970

but the r9 390x does perform better in a bunch of benchmarks now

but because the 970 is around 320, i would recommend that vs the 400$ 390x,

personally i dont think the small performance diff justifies the cost.. but technically the 390x is the best of the to, and you can get it for your budget
