New pair of headphones ! Need help

Hi !

It is time for me to buy new pair of headphones for me. Is Astro A40 with MixAmp a good choice ? I could get the 2013 edition from my friend. Im interested also waiting for the new HyperX Cloud Revolver to come out at summer.

I'll also second the advice that those are not headphones, they are headsets.

I'd also recommend regular headphones. Something with a removable cable so you can easily replace it once (and it will) it gets broken.

For the microphone use the one in your webcam for free if you have one. For something a step up I like the Samson C01U or Blue Snowball. Throw it in a shockmount and onto an arm so you can adjust it and get perfect placement.

This combo will smoke any headset. The headphones should last the rest of your life if they're any good like the Seinheissers Arronleads suggested, and I'm guessing the mic could last 10+ years. You're lucky if a headset lasts 2 years. My buddy keeps buying turtle beach headsets like they're...

Don't buy Astros, best headset you can buy is probably the sennheiser g4me one.

I have the g4me one and it's much better than the Astros I used to have.

Please note Astros are not headphones neither are the clouds, they're "headsets"

If you don't need a mic get some headphones like the hd598 or ad700x.
