System
H81m-K Mobo
G3258 Intel Dual Core Processor
2x8gig ddr3 Gskill RAM
2TB Seagate HDD, 500gig Seagate HDD
Corsair CX600 PSU
NVidia 550GTX Ti GPU

I have been struggling with this build for about a month now with now avail

After fresh install of Windows 10 and Win 7 (tried both on my two different HDDs) everything works great, update all my drivers and Windows and I can do whatever plus some gaming for up to several hours or even a day or so. Then either after a reboot or while gaming the system slows down to a complete crawl and wont respond to much of anything. Mouse still works and clicking on somethings works but more often than not nothing. Several times after rebooting after this issue I have a disk error that Win10 tries to reboot and repair and win7 simply blue screens and error code.

I have checked temps while gaming and they are acceptable, booted into RAM check program and the RAM tests are good. I am at a complete loss and need help, thanks in advance.

There also is a possibility the GPU is causing the issue; could you run the system without it for a few days? If it runs properly for several days without the GPU, then you'll know it probably is defective. That's easier than getting the motherboard replaced (though I still believe the motherboard is faulty).

Put in a new mobo same problem.

Im thinking maybe CPU? But the more I read about it CPU failure seems especially unlikely.

Whats making this so hard to diagnose is once it acts up, IE the next day, it either goes super slow or Windows wont boot and tries to repair itself which it never does. So I have to reinstall Windows and try again. At this point I can do anything I want for a few hours, but once the system powers down and sits for a few hours or a day, powering it back up is when the issue starts.....

I guess is could be, I have tried on both my Seagate HDDs and they are old but the chances of both of them failing and both giving me the same symptoms described above seem odd.

So far you eliminated the motherboard, the GPU, the HDDs (presuming only one was connected at a time) and the PSU. Memory shouldn't be the issue, but installing a single module would be a good test when it happens. That obviously leaves very little; was the CPU ever overclocked? Is there anything else connected to that system that could possibly cause the issue (keyboard, LAN controller, etc.)?

I only had one HDD hooked up at a time during this whole mess.

Processor is brand new and never been overclocked.

I actually just broke the connector on my keyboard last night and just hooked up a new one during my recent failure. Other thank that, a USB Mouse which I have used on my laptop before, I direct connect my internet to my motherboard and thats it.

Only thing I can think of thats different is, I havnt hooked up my Reset wire from the tower to mobo because its a tight fit and I never use it anyways

Well after many headaches, I got a new SSD and everything seems to be working alright now.

I am flabergasted that both of my HDD shows exactly the same issues which led me to believe that they were ok and not the issue. Only guess I can think of is when they were stored whatever damage they took happened to both at the same time... like a big magnet maybe?

Thanks for all the help GhislainG!
