my computer starts but when i login the screen is black?why???

Solution
Have you been able to login before? Is it the first time you are booting up? Is there an OS installed on the drive?

Try starting up in safe mode and see if it works, then download drivers.

It would help if you can be more specific.

Ok try this. When you're at the black screen press Ctrl+Alt+Delete (all at the same time), and when another screen comes up click on Task Manager. When Task Manager opens click on File -> Run (or something like that, just look for the one that contains Run in it), and then type in explorer.exe and press enter. Everything should load up now. This has happened to me before and that's usually what I do and it works for me just fine.

As kc said, the screen turns black when he LOGS IN, so the computer does get into Windows. This means the motherboard can see the HDD. Probably something with Windows.

yeah it cud be...
do u have a glowing black screen, or does ur monitor go to sleep???
