Hi guys and gals!

So, my old CPU (AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+) is spiking to 100% usage when I'm watching YouTube videos in HD quality. 720p is watchable in small screen mode, but 720p 60fps, 1080p and 1080p 60fps is completetly unwatchable, it lags, stutters and falls way out of sync. I'd like to try and solve this problem. Below is a list of my PC specs as well as solutions I've tried

PC specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.01 GHz
Mobo: MSI MS-7369
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB
RAM: 4GB DDR2
PSU: 550W Corsair (unkown model)

And everything I've tried so far:

> Updated Flash Player (Last done today)
> Disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox
> Scanned HDD for problems (None found)
> Scanned for malware (No malware found)
> Disabled unneccesary background/autostart programs
> Cleaned CPU heatsink
> Overclocked CPU (No improvement)
> Tried with both Chrome and IE

I'd be really glad if someone would help me solve this problem, as I'm losing my mind over that it seems unfixable..Thanks in advance!

Solution
Frankly, your CPU isn't fast enough. Over the years, CPU requirements of even streaming videos online have increased dramatically.

You might try Firefox.
