Fx 8350 with r9 390 and cooling.

So ive already looked into if a 8350 with bottleneck a 390, so we don't need to have a debate. My question is would an 8350, paired with a 390 be safe to oc a little bit to roughly 4.4-4.6 with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I have heard great things about the hyper 212, would just like to see if anyone has had any first hand experience with it.

Oh sorry i meant chip as in cpu, however yes the chipset(AMD 970) does effect the overclock, and 970 and 990fx are considered to be the best overclocking chipsets on the AM3+ platform. So you are fine there. No CPU is designed the same way and others will overclock further than others(this is called the silicon lottery).

I have the M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard. With the AMD 970/SB950 Chipset. Not sure how that chipset matches up against others, maybe you have some more insight.
