Crossfire HD 6850 and 7750

Hi guys! I bought a XFX Radeon HD 6850 from an aquaintance, which came with the Crossfire Bridge. My aquaintance also has a 7750 for sale, which he claimed he had been using in Crossfire with the 6850 he gave me.

Is it possible to crossfire these two cards together? If so, is the performance of these two combined and good for gaming? Please DO NOT suggest any other GPU or GPU Combos, as i already have the 6850, already have a PSU and I have enough money to buy the 7750 only (as he's selling it to me at half lowest market price here in Argentina).

If I remember correctly they have to be in the same generation, so you would need 2 6000 series, or 2 7000 series cards. Its generally better to have matching cards because both cards will run the same speed as the slowest card. Pretty sure buying the second card would be a waste of time and money.

Thanks for the answer! The thing is he's selling it for 500 pesos (which is around 30 us dollars). He claims they are compatible has he has beeing using them, but im not quite sure. I was thinking that if they are and the performance increase is good, I'd might as well go for it.

The first number doesn't mean the same generation as lots of cards are rebranded like nearly all of the rx 200 series are 7000 series rebrands and can cf with each other. They do however need to be in the same family which they are not. They're not even the same architecture, vliw5 and gcn 1.0.
