Not finding my exact problem. Upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate on HP SR5130NX WD 200gb hdd and optical drive both SATA. Wanting to add second Seagate160gb IDE hdd to ide port on M2N68-LA ivy motherboard. Had dual boot Windows 7 until I reformated the IDE for storage. Now can't get system to read IDE as storage. Ps found system equiped with 2X 512 stick memory.

Additional thoughts, SATA hdd and SATA lightscribe are reading as 3 and 4 respectively. When I had dual boot the IDE was 1. SATA is faster, no? Wouldn't I want the SATA drives at 1 and 2? Can I change this order or is mb set with IDE 1 and 2?

You know, sometimes the answer is just so stupid it hurts just to think about! I had the os on the sata hdd, but the bios kept reading the IDE hdd because it was in the 1st position and I was getting "os not found" It dawned on me to set the boot order 1. cd/dvd 2. HDD group and 3. HDD group 4. disabled. Nothing in the optical drive, no os on the IDE HDD and lo and behold Windows 7 Ultimate patiently waiting on the SATA HDD. Now the IDE HDD showed in BIOS and in device manager and after assigning a drive letter there she was under computer. SATA optical drive, SATA HDD, IDE HDD, pray tell...what to do with the IDE slave now??? Walk away...just walk away!
