HEllo. I just finished putting together my first computer build. Just finished installing everything and plugged everything in according to the manual.

Asus Z97a mobo
i5 4660
EVGA gtx 960
HD WD blue 1tb
8GB DDR3 RAM
Thermaltake psu 750w

the trouble is when i turn it on the case fans and cpu fan spin for a brief moment and the cpu led is red, it then shuts off and tries to turn on again over and over. pls help :C

I could also only fit in enough screws to make a backwards L-shape. I stopped there because it was enough to hold the board in place. When I tried getting the other screws threw they wouldnt reach the rivets at the back of the case past the motherboard no matter how hard i pushed and i didnt want to completely manhandle it in fear of cracking the mobo. Ive read an article about a guy who has the same problem and it was being caused by a riser he added in for an SLI upgrade causing the board to slant and short out. Im wondering if maybe since i only have it connected across the bottom and right side, that slant being caused by the unscrewed left side is causing it to short. too tired to test now, retiring for the night. I'm off tomorrow, and wont stop until it's fixed

it's not the RAM. i just took one and then both out and it still did the same thing. when I take out the 8 pin cpu powerline it works fine, plug it back in and it starts all over again.

im really starting to think it's the screws, 4 of the 9 stands and screws aren't in the motherboard. I just can't get them through for some reason
