I recently built a new computer. My specs are

Mobo: Asus 170 Pro
CPU: I7 6700k Skylake
cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
GPU: 980ti K|ngp|n x 980ti Classified SLI
32gb Ram DDR4 30mhz
Corsair Gaming Keyboard
Logitech Mouse
Corsaid Wireless 7.1 Headset
Case: Corsair 750d Airflow edition
Monitor: Samsung 4k 28" 1ms 60hz monitor

Cpu is not overclocked, everything runs nicely except it doesn't seem stable, I get random black screens either when gaming or sometimes on startup. Occasionally after a black screen in a game after a hard reset the system will boot then go right to a black screen instead of windows.

If it comes during gaming, I will be playing then a black screen just appears I see in the top of my monitor it says display port then goes away then says display port and just loops as if the computers trying to connect.

Sometimes I can still hear the game in my headset during the black screen for 10 seconds or so then it goes silent so maybe its a graphic driver, I'm not sure. I recently started getting more black screens after I purchased the Corsair 7.1 Wireless VOID headset that comes with a USB that acts as a wireless device and sound card I believe.

Any help figuring out a way to get a crash report or diagnosing this issue would be great. I spent about 4k and the computer looks amazing gaming and editing 4k content I just would love it to be rock stable and not give me these issues that make me so frustrated.

Thanks in advance for this assistance.

Not that I have any idea, but just out of curiosity, why do you have two different GPUs? Are their clock speeds the same? Do they synch up properly under SLI?

On a continuation of that - what happens when you have only one GPU?

What power supply are you using?

The GPU's have slightly different clock speeds, I have two different GPU's due to the fact that I started with the Kingpin then wanted to SLI to get more FPS for 4k gaming, I couldn't get another 980ti kingpin at the price I paid so I went with the cheaper classified as my second card, I researched that it wouldn't be an issue as long as both cards are 980ti's. I am running an EVGA 1000W Gold Power Supply to answer the ladder part of your question. Also, I have not really done enough extensive testing to determine whether or not disabling SLI affects things.

Would switching my display port output from the kingpin to the classified (second GPU) help anything? Also how would I do this as when I plug my display port into the bottom card nothing happens, it just loops that display port icon on the monitor like its trying to connect to the card almost like it does when it crashes.

What would this help me troubleshoot? I've already ran it with only the Kingpin in the beginning, didn't run it long enough to notice the errors I'm getting now but I do get crashes with only the kingpin in.

It could be related to either an internal or USB HD that is failing or maybe even a bad or incompatible driver for a USB device. Try unplugging USB peripherals like external HDs and your headset and restart the PC and see if that helps clear things up.
