Hi,
I have my laptop setup
Windows 10 C:/ 230GB
E:/
F:/

Installed new SSD added in optical bay 480GB SSD in addition to Factory HDD 500GB

Is there anyway to get my laptop to start windows only from the SSD and while keeping my programs and data installed on my HDD ?

Your best option is to clone the entire system from the HDD on to the SSD. Then install the SSD inside the case (screwholes are provided) and disconnect the HDD while the system boots up the first time.

Once it's all confirmed to be working, reintroduce the HDD and delete all the system and programme files off, along with all the hidden files and folders that go with the User Accounts. That leaves you with a full backup of all your own data and plenty of space for future backups.

Personally, I would then buy a caddy for the HDD and keep the disk in the caddy in a fireproof box but some folks prefer to risk leaving it in the same place as the system disk.

but in that case
I would have C,E,F drives on SSD

What I am trying to do is to have C on SSD (boot) and Keep D &F on HDD
Also How do I clone the HDD to SSD and keep same partition letters the same ?

You can't.
You can't clone only the OS to the SSD.

Ok
If I clone the whole 3 drives
How can I delete the drives E AND F from ssd and keep the copy on the Hdd
And also delete the copy of C (windows) from Hdd and keep copy from from Ssd ?

@saga lout

Thanks that makes perfect sense now. I was hoping to have C on SSD only but looks like I am going to have more drives on but I can Live with that

One more ought to do it - a 500GB. You move your personal data on to that then clean up the original HDD down to the OS Partition only so you can clone the system and programmes to the new SSD.

You then delete the system and all then put that drive away as a backup. Put the new 500GB in, re-target the shortucuts to it and there you go.
