I don't know if this is called a bricked motherboard. I can't boot into the bios for a long time now (it ends up with a black screen whenever I press delete) but I can properly boot into windows. Today I figured it would work if I flashed the latest bios update but I don't know what happened and now my computer won't boot up into windows (I couldn't even start flashing it which was really weird). Any ideas on what I'm going to do? My motherboard is a gigabyte h61m-ds2 rev 2.2

Now i had a similar problem. Two months ago. I updated my bios for no reason, ended up installing the wrong one, and windows wouldn't boot. I ended up taking some tweezers, and shorting two pins on the bios chip itself, and it made the PC boot into the backup bios, which i used to flash the correct bios. This worked, surprisingly enough. If you want to try it go ahead and google it. But i wouldn't recommend doing so unless you're confident in the steadiness of your hands. If its still under warranty, try and send it back. They should replace it or at least reflash the bios.

Reset your CMOS and dont turn the Fast Boot option to Ultra Fast. It wont load your keyboard drivers in time for you to hit keys to enter bios.

You could also get a PS/2 keyboard to do it since they turn on really quickly, that could help, but it wont help in Ultra Fast boot mode.

Also, using a VGA monitor will speed things along.

Ive had to do this same thing with my GA-Z87X-UD4H. If I ever want to get into BIOS again, I have to put it on Fast Boot instead of Ultra Fast. Its impossible to enter BIOS on Ultra Fast because it just wont load the usb keyboard drivers fast enough. Ive heard that you can with the proper hardware, but Im not going to use VGA monitors and Im not going to use a PS/2 all the time. And its kind of a PITA to pull out a monitor and a keyboard just to get into BIOS. I should just be able to get in without changing hardware.

Anyway, try clearing CMOS and dont go any higher than Fast Boot and you should be ok. These damn Gigabyte motherboards a quirky.

I looked at the manual for your motherboard. Yours doesn't have a Fast Boot or Ultra Fast option. It does have a Quick Boot option.

Try Disabling the Quick Boot, and see if you can get in. If you can, then it is indeed not loading keyboard drivers fast enough.
