It really depends on what your definition of 'future proof' is. To some, it means being able to run newer games in the same way they do now. To others, it means the ability to upgrade other things later and be able to still maintain good gaming performance (for example, going from 1080p to 1440p).
That will be a great combination for running current games at high settings, 1080p @ 60fps.
If thats what you want to be able to do for the next few years, then yes it's probably 'future proof'. If you wanted to jump up to 1440p later on, then no, it wont suffice for that.
