I have a bunch of smaller internal hdds sitting around and I want to use them for backup drives but inside the computer as I don't want lots of external hdds cluttering up space.
So I will want to be connecting them only to backup files then disconnecting them most of the time to ensure against accidentally formatting/power spikes etc.
This may be a silly question but what is the best way to disconnect them and reconnect them since I'll be doing it quite often I don't want to damage the sata power and data sockets on the hdds by wearing them out, is there a connector I can put on the socket so I can connect the sata cable to that and wear that out? Or is there no such thing or it's unnecessary, what do you think?
