I work in a computer repair store and get hdd's all the time and need a quick reliable test to ensure they are good before reselling them to the public. I just need to know if the disks are good or not and most of the tests i have seen I am unable to decipher the info they are giving.

Is there no simple good / bad test?

Hi there watrhous,

You can just use the brand specific testing tools. They tend to provide accurate results. Also, most of them provide a pass/fail grade.
Apart from that, you can consider writing zeros on the drives before reselling them. This is a process that fills in 0 value in each sector. The data is unrecoverable and sometimes this helps when the drive has some soft bad/weak sectors.

You can consider the third party tools that smorizion provided as well.
