So I'm going to be completely honest and say that I am very new when it comes to PC gaming. I used to spend a lot of time playing many of the old battlefields (vietnam, battlefield 2) but since then Ive played primarily on console. Im a big fan of FPS games and Im looking for a setup that won't completely kill my bank account. Id be looking to play titles like Arma 3 or Squad. What would a good setup be to run either of these? Keep in mind that I'm a noob when it comes to PC so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

That PC is extremely unbalanced. It features a high end i7 while only having a GTX 950 - mid-range 1080p card. If you are looking to have high-ultra gameplay, i5+R9 390X is a great combo.

Id like to try and keep it at no more than $1000. Im not too sure what I do or don't need at this point so I guess a better question would be what would you choose if you were in my position?

Watch some youtube videos and read some articles here at Tom's to gain at least elementary knowledge of PC parts and building.

I do not want to start picking parts for you until you tell me if you need a monitor or OS or other peripherals in a separate budget or as a part of the $1000 budget.

At his point I have nothing and would completely starting from scratch. I won't include the monitor in that budget. Aside from that Im starting from nothing.
