I have a Intel Pentium G3258 (overclocked to 4.3 Ghz) and a EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB. I had these for a while and I plan to upgrade one of my components to a Core i5 or I7. I would also want to upgrade my GPU to a GTX 970 or 980/TI. Which is best?

My specs currently.

Motherboard: MSI H81m-P33
PSU: Corsair CX600
Chipset: Pentium G3258
Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO
GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SSC
HDD: 160GB
HDD 2: 750 GB
HDD 3: 500 GB.

well there are no new mainstream CPUs planned for a while, so I would upgrade your CPU. this way, when polaris and pascal roll around, you can either get a current gen card for less, or get a next gen card. you might want to invest on a better motherboard.
