Installed a new SSD and cloned it, but programs from start still use the path from old HDD

Hello guys, I bought a Samsung SSD and cloned my existing OS and files from my old HDD using the Samsung data migration. Everything is fine but when I try to open any application from start, it displays an error and I notice it still uses the path of the old HDD (D:).

Let's say I want to open Folder Options, Indexing options, Administrative tools. I'm going to type it on Start and as soon as I click it it says "Windows cannot access the specified path..." But the file on the top of the dialog box uses old HDD with the path: D:\Users\User\Appdata....


So I'm guessing my problem is that windows still grabs the programs from the old HDD. I haven't done anything with the old hdd yet just using it as additional storage. thanks in advance!

This will be a little tricky to do, but you might have to right click all your program shortcuts and apply the path from the old hdd to the new hdd

So your new SSD is the C drive and Windows has remapped your old HDD as D drive? Sounds like Windows has tried to be clever and updated all your links now the drive letter has changed. What happens if you remove the D letter assigned to the HDD in the disk management?

And maybe silly question, Samsung migration transfers the data and calls the new SSD the C drive but you still have to go into your BIOS and tell the PC to boot from the SSD first. Maybe your PC is still booting from the HDD somehow?
