Hi all,

I am in the process of deploying an upgraded server solution for my home network and have a question on sharing a raid drive to PC's on the network from Windows server 2012.
For example, if I RAID drives together in RAID10, and it becomes for example RAID(D:) drive locally on the server, how would I then share that drive with other PC's connected to the network?

I read on that the PC side that you can do something called "Map Network Drive" so that it would show up on file explorer. Would this be the correct way of "adding" the drive to each PC (which all run windows 8.1 and 10)

in light of this, i am still at a loss on how to share this drive from the windows server to be able to be found by the PCs connected to the network.

Thanks in advance!

I think you need to do a little reading about Windows Server and Windows networks in general before deciding on this solution. You would be well advised to buy a book about Windows Server before committing yourself. Are you sure that you actually need a server operating system, and does it have to be Windows Server rather than one of the excellent free alternatives?

File Sharing is a very basic part of networking; you don't even need server software for this.
