Hello, I need help overclocking my CPU and GPU. I'm using an ASUS CM1435-EU002D PC. As far as I know the mother board's name is CM1435.

My CPU is AMD A8-5500 3.20 GHz and i need the safe ammount of overclock without harming my hardware. I've heard that 3.7GHz is safe, but it's better if I ask first.

My GPU is ASUS GeForce GT640 and I've watched this video and the creator states that these are safe overclocks : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyrHSKRQpx0

Thank you for your time. :)

Hi there,

Although guides are good, its hard to say what's good and bad for an overclock as its different every time, Providing you don't go stupid with the overclocking you will be fine (just don't play with the voltages) just keep going a bit at a time until your system crashes (run a benchmark after every overclock) once your system crashes then its reached the most it will go so just go back one step.

And there you go you have an overclocked system.

Although it is worth me saying with the hardware you are using don't expect a massive gain if any in performance.

Good luck,
Matt.

When I first decided I wanted to overclock, I used the internet, I read guide after guide on how to do it, one thing I discovered is not all the guides are the same, because a lot of the guide writers had never overclocked that particular CPU or GPU before, but they had a basic overclocking knowledge, that they had gained from their own research into the subject of overclocking.

I was self taught and learned everything I needed to know before I overclocked anything, by studying, watching, and learning, on the net, not the first time have I ever posted a thread, "Help Me Overclock", anything!

The stickies above will help you, the internet will help you, the resources out there are massive, and you can learn all you need to know entirely on your own, if you are willing to invest your own time in learning!

I surely would never take any overclocking suggestions here, that maybe two weeks ago, the person advising you, knew less than you do.

Study to show yourself approved!

Learn first, Then Do!
