I spent 2 days trying to find out why my fps was dropping when i played games, in the beginning i thought it was my GPU but today i found out my processor is overheating and so limiting my GPU.
The temperature oscillates between 60ºC and 90ºC with me doing nothing but browsing and reaches up to 105ºC when playing games till it slows the GPU down.
I already opened my case and cleaned it, took the processor apart and cleaned it as well but it didn't change anything. But one thing i've noticed is that there isn't much thermal paste (is that the name of it?) that goes on the processor left, could the paste be the problem? Is there something possibly software related that i can do to fix it? Or is my processor just dying? :(

Solution
Clean out thermal paste and apply some more. Make sure both the heat sink and the cpu is cleaned and reapply about a little more than a pea amount. Whenever you clean your cpu you should remove thermal and apply new thermal paste.
