I am just going to update my GPU but as usual i am confused. Went through a lot of options and finally saw that either ASUS Strix GTX 960 or Sapphire R9 380 Nitro (4GB) will be pocket friendly for me.
My existing setup has:
corsair gs 600 psu
gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 motherboard
amd fx-8320 processor
12 gigs of ram
and 2tb hard disk (1+1)
Which will be a better option for me and why?
Thanks in advance :)

Solution
this is how i rank them
Nr1 R9 380x (note the x)
nr2 gtx 960
n3 R9 380 (no x)
some will argue the 380(non x) will be better than the gtx 960, because of DX 12, i will argue we dont have enough dx12 yet to take advantage of it,
however, the R9 380x wins over both of them even when not DX12, so see if you can get the x version instead,
so would be Sapphire R9 380x Nitro

yes they are DX12 enabled, but at this moment, right now, amd cards have a slight performance increase in DX12,
but like i said, we dont have many DX12 games yet,
thats why i dont recommend teh 380, i do recommend teh 380x tho, because that will do better in both DX12 and DX11
the gtx 960 will do better than R9 380 in DX11 games,
but the 380 will do better than teh GTX 960 in DX 12 games(only a few),
but R9 380x will do better than both in both dx11 and dx12, so get that if you can find it at a decent price over teh 2 others

GTX 960.

Low power consumption, runs cooler, more Nvidia features, better drivers, better overclocking etc. The benefits of a GTX 960 are more compared to small perform gain in R9 380 which would be compensated in the near future by new Nvidia drivers.

But i saw that 380 is beating the 960 in almost every game by atleast 5-7 fps in 1080p. can that really be compensated by upcoming nvida drivers?

960 will overclock much better than R9 380, that's also an important point.
I think 4-5 FPS difference doesn't matter considering the fact that Nvidia is much more power efficient and supported in most AAA titles.
