Occasionally cold double boot after changing RAM

Recently I sent my old RAM set (G.Skill Ripjaws 4x4GB) for RMA, and I bought another set with different brand (Corsair 2x8GB).

The new kit runs just fine, passing memtest. However, occasionally, every 13x cold boot or so, a cold double boot occurs. As I push the power button, fans are spinning and then suddenly shut down before post. Three seconds later, the PC boot again, go into post and runs normal.

I already tried to clear CMOS and load optimized default, but the symptoms still there.

My motherboard is Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H with i7 3770K, all run without OC.

I have the latest stable BIOS (F14), the later ones are betas. And I already experimenting by turning on XMP. The problem is still there.

two thing ...one send an email to the ram vendor and mb vendor see if the ram been tested and qal for your mb. make sure the ram 1.5v the newer 1.3v can have issues with some mb and cpu memory controller. make sure your ram in the right ram slots. the a channels. make sure there no dust or bent pins. with memory sometimes there little glitches with some sticks.

Sent a ticket to Corsair support, and they said it should be compatible with my mobo. I already made sure the sticks run at 1.5v. All sticks are placed in the right slots for dual channel (slot 1 and 3). The pins are all ok, no bent or anything. Yesterday I also changed the CMOS battery.

It's strange that the glitch only occurs after several cold boots (which spans 3 days, 4 cold boots each day)
