I've submitted a thread a while ago detailing that my new GPU didn't want to work in my pc since it refuses to turn on when I insert the GPU. I've tried just about everything from removing previous GPU drivers to updating mobo's firmware, but still nothing. The GPU itself is fine since it works great in my friend's pc and it's definitely not a PSU problem since mine is stronger, newer and a higher tier than my friend's.

I'm now looking to get a new mobo since mine is pretty old anyway and was just looking for some advice. The one I'm looking at is the ASUS H110M-K, Intel H110, LGA1151, Micro-ATX.

Specs:
CPU: intel core i5-3330 quad core 3.00GHz
GPU: MSI R7 370 4 GB
2 x 4GB DDR3 RAM
Motherboard: ECS H61H2-M12
PSU Seasonic M12-II 620w 80 PLUS Bronze
2x 1 TB HDDs
1x 500 GB HDD
3x 125mm Fans

Thanks!

ASUS H61M-K is a really good board if you can afford it go for it! :)

Here are the board specs https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H61MK/specifications/

It has turbo boost for processor and your gpu will work perfectly as it supports PCIe 3.0x16 speed :)

Aaaaand that's why I don't trust myself to buy anything before at least consulting with people who know what's going on XD.
Any mobos you'd recommend in the $70 or so range?

Clearly I live in a jungle because I can't find any of those on my usual site. I did find a ASUS H61M-K, LGA1155, Intel H61 Chipset, Micro-ATX though? I'll keep searching

Thank you! Clearly South Africa has something against anything containing H61 because that's literally the only board I can find on 7 different sites :pt1cable:

Well at least they have a good H61 board so you're lucky, they could have a shitty one then you'd be screwed :p

PS: please pick one of my answers that helped you with your issue so other people can take a look at it with the same issue :)

Go into any shop in the motherboards section and filter by socket 1155. Then choose from there. The selection will not be great since the platform is discontinued. Most will be H61, but if there's a B75 or anything starting with a 7, go for that.

You could also look for something on eBay..

b75 is better than h61 due to native support for 2nd/3rd gen core series cpu, native 1600mhz ram support with 3rd gen cpu, native sata 3, usb3, pci-e v3 support, it also support base clock overclocking

If you look at ASUS H61M-K that came later after 3rd generation was released it has:

2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 up to 2200MHz(O.C.)

Supports 3rd/2nd Generation Core™ i7/Core™ i5/Core™ i3/Pentium®/Celeron® Processors
Supports Intel® 22 nm CPU
Supports Intel® 32 nm CPU

4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s)

pci-e v3 support
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 *1 --> *1: Intel® 3rd Generation Core™ processors support PCIe 3.0 speed

Supports Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0
Supports CPU up to 77 W
* The Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 support depends on the CPU types.
* Refer to www.asus.com for CPU support list

The only thing it doesn't have over B75 is USB3.0, therefore no reason to spend more money on B75 unless you really want that USB 3.0 support
