Computer goes on and shuts off in a split second every morning since I bought a new psu

This week I bought a new psu because my gpu needed it. An Aerocool Xpredator Gold 750GM. The PC didn't turn on at first and after a few tries it turned on for half a second. When I started pushing and pulling the 24-pin thing that goes in my mobo for a bit it magically started working when I pulled it out a tiny bit on one side. Now I thought well it's fixed. But the next morning the same problem occured. With the same fix. Again I thought it would be over but it happened again this morning. Could it be my new psu (the 24-pin connection) and do I have to return it or is it the mobo (MSI z87-g43) which is the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Check if you plugged all the cables correctly but it could be PSU faulty so you could RMA it. It's not a bad PSU since it has all the protections OVP/UVP/OPP/SCP/SIP and safety EMC so it shouldn't damage rest of your components.

If this issue persists RMA the PSU then. Can you tell me which cpu and gpu you have ?

Inside the 24pin block there are those metal sleeves that contact the pins inside the boards connector. Make sure they are all down enough to contact. That is pretty basic quality assurance for a PSU so don't just accept that as normal.

i7 4790k
MSI Radeon r9 390

I'll check if nothing's shorting out and whether everything is plugged in correctly!
Give me a moment :)

Everything is plugged in correctly except for the mobo connection. the 4-pin extra thing is plugged in correctly and the 20-pin main connector is askew. It's higher on the end of the 4-pin extra thing and fully plugged in on the other side. If I make them level by pulling out the outer end a bit, the other end DOES connect well enough to start the computer up. I don't think anything is shorting out, since the only change I made to my pc was the new psu and the pc does turn on if I play around with the mobo-connector. So, RMA?
