Hello all, picked up an MSI Gtx 970 OC edition as an upgrade a few days ago, installed the drivers and started to play games "please note drivers where installed as clean via DDU"

The card has failed in 3 different systems under the same driver, it isn't causing blue screens but when bench-marked it will run for a little then go black and "driver error"

It will play games like mine craft, league of legends without any issues. But as soon as i run warcraft/guildwars 2 and BF4 i get the lockups

system -

Proc - 6600k at stock currently
Card - MSI GTX 970 OC
Mobo - Asus z170-a
Ram - Corsair vengeance 16gb DDR 4
PSU - EVGA supernova 750 G2

I don't think its a power issue as the supernova has never let me down!

isit time to RMA the card ? :(

With the problems you are having, if you are certain all the PCI-E power connectors are connected to the GPU, then yeah it's RMA time. Especially if you have tried it on different systems. Also when you RMA it, you might go for a different card altogether, but that's another story.

Well basically my girlfriend bought a system off cyber power..... against all my advice not to but hay ho, she had my R9 390X and i had her GTX 970 it fits well into my build "for looks" lol so i have an RMA number but i don't think they will give me a different Card, is MSI that bad for the gtx series ? i have always used EVGA

Factory settings. To be honest if i have to under clock my card to play games RMA is the only way lol

I was talking about just going for the R9 390x and skipping the gtx 970 altogether :D
