computer shuts down during gaming,GPU or PSU gone bad?

hello, i am having a big problem right now, for the last couple of months playing games like rise of the tomb raider or fallout 4, after 15-20 minutes my UPS starts to beeps continuously until i alt tab the game,so i get rid of UPS & directly take power,but because of that my computer restarts while playing games without any warning so i put UPS back,because at-least it gives me warning allow me to alt tab to prevent restarting, here is my system specs, i build my system around 15 months ago & played games like Witcher 3, MGS5, GTA5, dragon age inq, assessions creed unity without any problem

FX6300 cpu
MSI R9 280x 3gb gaming edition GPU
78MLT-S2 motherboard
corsair SV 650 Watt PSU
8 gr corsair ram

i already tried these things:
cleaned my pC
reapplied thermal paste in GPU & CPU, while cpu temps now are 53-55 degree, GPU has not showing any temps now (probably sensor has broken)before applying paste its showing around 85 degree cel. under full load, now i can only see vram temps which are showing 80-90 degree in full load

one more thing most of the time this beeping(with UPS) or shutting down(with direct power) happen when there is big firefight or explosions happening in the game

i dont know if this is GPU's fault of PSU's fault
please give me suggestion as this problem is making me mad

i used to have 6350 with stock cooling and the reason it shut down was the reason it was getting to hot. You could try and lower the clock speed in bios so it wont run that hot. or turn off performance boost to power saving.

Couple things,

1. What is the exact brand and model of your UPS? A common error is to buy just any UPS, except if its not rated for what your PSU requires even when its on wall power it will beep because it can't deliver that power. Even when you are not on battery. Your UPS needs to be matched to your PSU or system power usage. Yours probably is not which is why it beeps.

2. 650w should be plenty for your setup however its possible your PSU is failing or defective. Run Event Viewer in windows and look for Critical errors when the system fails. Post it here. Its likely Kernel Power (14) which is a PSU problem. There are other things that can cause this as well, one is overclocking, but if you are not doing that then its not that. Another is bad ram, which you can check using memtest86:

After running that on a USB if it comes out good, and you have that Kernel Power error, your PSU needs to be replaced.

3. The power phase on that motherboard is terribly weak. Its only a 3+1, so I REALLY hope you're not overclocking. And in fact it may not even be enough to game reliably on that processor. This will also cause power issues especially if you are using an aftermarket cooler and not much cooling is getting to the VRMs. That board supports that CPU but only barely, this is a common issue with AMD processors because of their standardized AM3/AM3+ socket.

1. yes my UPS is of not great quality but as i already mentioned that if i remove my UPS & use directly from the power swithcboard computer restart during gaming without any warning

2. yet to try that

3. no i didnt overclock my cpu or my gpu at all

Right, the warning is you're pulling too much power through the UPS and so you know by the beeping, if you remove the UPS its exactly the same problem without the warning.

I don't want to say for sure its your PSU because of that motherboard and its super weak and small VRMs. I'm pretty sure that CPU is driving the hell out of that board and its just not enough. The PSU may have issues too, but I think you have a compound problem.

but i played all the aforementioned games in that same system without the problem & what do you mean by compound problem & i hope its not PSU i bought it 14 months ago,it probably is in warranty right now but i live in India & those type to services are shit over here

By compound I mean 2 problems in 1.

If the PSU is under warranty I would have it replaced. That (assuming you test your memory and its all good as I suggested) is likely the main part of the issue.

The other part is the poor power phase of your motherboard, it really was not designed to run the faster FX chips. What could have happened is the VRMs wore down due to the power demands of that processor. So yes it did work, but the board may be worn out, and now it does not.

Being that you can warranty the PSU you have nothing to lose by doing that first and seeing if it cures the problem. If it does not, then IMO you need a new and better motherboard.

GPU heat issues would cause artifacts, screen glitches, and game crashes. The PC completely shutting off is a power issue.

ok, the problem got worse since yesterday, now even with the ups the PC is shutting down during gaming even when not much is going on ingame, i saw event viewer & got 'Kernal debugger error 41' so now can we say that PSU at fault or motherboard can also cause this?

also one more thing, when my computer is in very les load like browsig or idle it min. voltage never goes below 11.6 but when i game it goes as low as 11.3 as you can see, is it normal?

hi, i return my pld PSU & bought that Seasonic PSU but the problem remain the same, i am suispecting that it may be a GPU problem, i find out that one of its fan was not running & ihave to nudge tat even after that it doesnt run at full speed & wobble also the fan speed automettically got set bact to 30-35 % (i always increase it manually always before gaming because temp sensors are broken) so UPS starts beeping very quickly during gmaing,

but yesterday after checking all that(both fans spinning ,fan speed 100%) & installing new PSU, when there is intense firefight in Fallout 4 the UPS started beeping again untill i alt-tab &minimize the game

game runs smoothly before this thing happen,no artifacts no stuttering

please help me, i want to hang myself now

The UPS is definitely overloaded which I mentioned in my first response to him, however he did say he tried it without the UPS and at that point it would last longer but just crash, so basically the UPS is giving him a warning of high power draw. It has to be something in between (like the motherboard VRMs or GPU VRMs) that are drawing a lot of power and then failing.

i'll try it without the UPS,

what do u mean by socket 5-15 Amps ? a different switchboard?
